Nutrition Coach, Blogger Barbell Kitchen

Sara is the nutrition coach and blogger of Barbell Kitchen where she works with clients to optimize their performance by dialing in their nutrition. She works with three types of clients, those looking to lose body fat, maintain and see athletic performance gains, and build muscle. In addition, she co-owns and operates House of CrossFit in Carlsbad, CA. She has two young children and is married to a combat-injured Marine Corps Veteran, whom she proudly supports. Sara earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University San Marcos. She continued her education by obtaining her CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 certifications and is currently studying under Dr. John Berardi’s Precision Nutrition Certification Program.

Sara grew up with a love for baking and vows to constantly vary her kitchen by always trying new things while sharing her success with others. Her collegiate and childhood love of sports propelled her pursuit of fitness which included endurance races, physique competitions, and CrossFit competitions in recent years. Sara’s passion for fitness and eagerness to work with clients of all background enables her to show each person she works with their true and often unknown potential. She believes each person can accomplish anything they want to, and she wants to help take them there and beyond. She doesn’t sugar coat or make false promises, simply believes in people often times more than they believe in themselves.

Sara’s Favorite Chosen Foods Products

Avocado Oil Along with the high cooking temperature, there are many versatile uses for avocado oil when cooking. I use this oil in every dressing, baked good, baked, broiled or sautéed item. The cold pressing produces a great tasting flavor and contains Vitamin E and monounsaturated fats which may help prevent heart disease.
Avocado Oil Spray Aside from obvious cooking uses (anything in a skillet), my favorite use for this product is on my skin! It penetrates more deeply than other oils which is great for dehydrated skin and for healing sun damage (it has a high sterolin content). The anti-anting benefits aren’t so bad either thanks to skin repair and promoting better elasticity and more resilient skin.
