Shanna Schad is a self taught cook, baker, food stylist, food blogger and photographer. She believes in high quality ingredients in her recipes as close to the source as possible. Her food philosophy is that organics and Non-Gmos are best, animals should always be humanely and sustainably raised, produce should be sustainably farmed, and she supports local farmers as much as possible. She shops for food for her family and blog through local co-ops, farmers markets and organic and natural food stores. High quality foods taste best and she believes that life is too short to not always eat the best quality food you can get. She is always seeking out new brands and food sources that coincide with her food philosophy. Health is the most important thing to her and her family and she believes that it starts with high quality food.

Shanna resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with her husband, two young daughters and two rescue dogs. When she isn’t busy in her kitchen or photography studio she is at the gym, playing tennis, hiking with her family and dogs and vacationing to Hawaii as often as possible.

I love that they are high quality, non-gmo and provide the nutrients to help keep my family as healthy as possible. They practice sustainable farming which is very important to me. Their transparency of how their products make it from farm to household is something every company should strive for.

The Chosen Foods Avocado Oil is my go to oil for everything from sautéing, salad dressings, baking and even in my homemade lotion recipe. I love the high smoke point of the avocado oil for high heat cooking like searing meats or stir fries, the neutral flavor that works great in baked goods like cakes and how it keeps our skin super moisturized during the dry winter months when I use it in my lotion recipe.
